It’s a no-brainer that consuming a diet rich in whole fruits
and vegetables would be beneficial for optimal health and wellbeing. Unfortunately, in today’s fast-paced society,
people often find themselves making sub-optimal food choices. What can be done to off-set that?
What if there was a natural organic whole foods supplement that could help to prevent nutrient deficiencies and promote vitality?
In an ideal world, no one would need to take supplements
because we would get all the necessary nutrients from our diet.
Unfortunately, even people who eat all organic may be receiving sub-optimal
levels of anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, fiber, amino acids, and other vital nutrients.
This is due to the pollution of the air and the soil, depletion of nutrients
from soil due to long-term farming, and poor digestion/assimilation factors
(which can be caused by the way the food was prepared or the way that it is
eaten, stress, genetics, or sedentary lifestyle). Other factors that lead to sub-optimal nutrition include pesticides, additives, preservatives, binders, fillers, food coloring, and other "natural" flavors and chemicals that are added to food and drinks that are not fit to be consumed but rather increase the shelf-life of the produce or product.
To compensate for the Standard American Diet’s (SAD) low level of nutritional value and other factors that compromise optimal nutrition, it is often necessary to supplement with various nutrients. Depending on the person and his or her genetic predisposition, there are specific nutrients that are necessary to balance the body, undo the damage done (detoxification), and prevent further damage from reoccurring (anti-aging).
Many of these essential nutrients can be found in natural supplements!
As a naturopathic doctor and mother, my daughter and I take liquid vitamins (better absorbed). I like to think of it as my health insurance (of course I eat well and exercise too).
