Heal The World Mission

"Knowledge is power, but action is everything!
I want to empower individuals by having the knowledge
to make informed decisions that they won't regret."
~Dr. Ahuva Gamliel

Ahuva Gamliel earned a Naturopathic Doctor degree and a Master’s in Acupuncture from Bastyr University, a world renowned school for evidence-based natural medicine. As a licensed Acupuncture Physician/Primary Care Provider with over 20 years experience, she has been featured on Channel 10, Univision Channel 23, and Channel 6, eHOW and on numerous radio and internet interviews as an expert in her field.

Dr Gamliel’s passion and focus is on helping people to heal themselves. Because education and prevention are paramount to achieving this goal, Dr Gamliel has taught holistic medicine courses at Everglades University at both the Boca Raton and Kendall campuses in South Florida as a Professor of Alternative Medicine. She has also been a guest lecturer at Johnson & Wales University and Miami Dade College in North Miami.

Recently her interest has turned towards helping people to increase their feelings of self autonomy and self worth and specifically to empower and prepare youth for unexpected social situations where they can be taken advantage of by unsuspecting individuals in college and beyond.

Dr Gamliel is seeking opportunities to guest lecture at as many high schools, colleges, and universities as possible in effort to prevent people from becoming victims of assault by arming them with vital information, from discerning the red flags of possible perpetrators, to what are the available remedies after the fact.  Her hope and aspiration is that by bringing more mindful awareness to this ongoing physical and mental health crisis, that together we can bring down the alarming statistics of people traumatized by sexual assault.

  • 1 in 5 women have experienced completed or attempted rape during their lifetime.
  • 1 in 71 men report experiencing rape during their lifetime.

These numbers are frightening, especially considering that many victims do not report these types of crimes due to fear, shame, guilt and the fact that many cases involve situations where the victim personally knew the attacker.

This is not a pleasant topic, but if we want our children to live in a safe world, we must talk about it.  It's not comfortable, but it is necessary and this open hearted discussion will help people to understand many of the complex issues surrounding this topic and to prevent unnecessary harm and longterm emotional pain.  As adults, it's our responsibility to protect our children (students / community) and this is how!

I would encourage not only students but also staff, counselors and teachers to attend such a workshop to be able to assist and identify those students in need of support in this matter.

The session with Dr Gamliel would be about 45 minutes of powerpoint presentation (with facts, data, statistics, research, remedies, resources, news and personal stories) followed by 15 minutes of Q & A.

Dr Gamliel is providing her time on a volunteer basis and will accept donations by Zelle to cover travel expenses to drgamliel@gmail.com.

Let's make the world a better, safer and healthier place together.  Our efforts will have a ripple effect as students can teach their siblings what they learned and help them to be prepared in unforeseen situations.
